Hi,

What do you guys think of these 2 system?

Athlon T-Bird 1 G
Asus A7v133
2x128MB, 1x256MB PC133
Radeon 8500 128MB

Athlong XP 2000+
Asus A7V8x
2x256MB PC2100
Radeon 9700 Pro

Should I upgrade the processor in the first setup to AthlonXP 1600+ ? or not worth much in doing so??

Thanks

y not get better ram (at least pc2700 c2) for 2nd system...unlock the 2000+ and overclock that sucka?
are you asking with system is better? doh!!!
they both seem find
i don't know much about how AMD system are...so i can't answer your last question...but if you do upgrade to 1600+, your mem would be the limiting case...y not get the ddr mobo with it...ECS75A??? combo for around $100 only

1st system is a very minor upgrade I am doing.
(already ordered/upgraded: 1x256MB PC133, Geforce2 GTS 32 to Radeon 8500 128MB)

2nd system is what I am building right now.
(already ordered/have Athlon XP 2000+, Asus A7V8x, 1x256MB PC2100, Radeon 9700 Pro)

I was thinking of trying to overclock the stick of PC2100 256MB to PC2700 level, if that don't work then get a stick of 512 PC2700?

Sorry about the bad post there...I would suggest going with the DDR memory mobo and absolutely go with the Athlon XP 1600+. From what I have experienced, the XP cpus overclock more effectively and with less trouble. I'd also suggest just going with the stick of 512 MB PC2700 instead of the two sticks of 256...that way you can still overclock and leave room for an upgrade.

I'd say leave them alone if they both work fine. Save your money for the next big step. As much as it kills me to say so cause I love a good upgrade.
