Well, apparently we are losing some freedoms.

I see the trend continues with the rubes greenman and Felix. The inability to understand being deported for exercising first amendment rights is antithetical to the Constitution, values and who we are as a county speaks volumes to your ignorance Greenman.

Let me give you obvious example greenman the dumb. you out protesting Biden Ukraine policies and they lock you up and deport you for doing so. Understand yet you feckless clown?

It starts with green cards, then naturalized citizens and finally all citizens.
because they actually don't have any real values - they are modern American Nazi party supporters and always have been. These people have never had real values as we have seen the Trump party hasn't respected values for decades. And now they are full blown Nazis. This is a common theme with authoritarian party supporters throughout history - they have NO REAL VALUES OR MORALS OR DECENCY.

This is why horrible evil shit happens. There is no talking to them. When they are this far gone, they are the enemy. Talk to people who are less far gone, not these stains on humanity.

The good thing is Mahmoud Khalil has representation so the government attorneys are going to find it difficult to just steamroll him like so many immigrants with zero representation. He will have his day in court and hopefully Mahmoud Khalil will prevail in his case to keep his green card and path to US citizenship.
I hope so too. I personally find his views pretty odious from what I’ve seen but protecting people with ‘bad’ views is the way we protect those with ‘good’ ones.

Yes, he should prevail, but he shouldn't have to be fighting for his freedom in the first place.

I don’t think there’s a transcript anywhere, no. Regardless though saying nice things about Hamas is every green card holder’s right under the Constitution.

Agree.
It's even fine for people without a green card who happened to drunkenly wander in from Canada.
The law of the land literally put it in writing and since all the self declared Republicans claim to be originalist or textualist or whatever bullshit theology then the whole concept of "visa" or "green card" should be considered federal over reach that just another deep state regulation and have doge drive a Tesla through it.

Khalil went on to work for the British government’s foreign office on Syrian issues from inside Lebanon. He looked after the Chevening scholarship program and managed projects with a focus on accountability, justice and gender equality in Syria. “Mahmoud is an extremely kind and conscientious person and he was loved by his colleagues at the Syria office,” the former British diplomat Andrew Waller, who worked as a policy adviser at the time, told Middle East Eye. Khalil then went on to intern for the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Unrwa, in their New York headquarters, according to his LinkedIn.

While critics of the protests often accuse demonstrators of hiding behind masks, Khalil spoke bare-faced on microphones and in front of cameras broadcasting news from the Manhattan campus to the rest of the world.

“As a Palestinian student, I believe that the liberation of the Palestinian people and the Jewish people are intertwined and go hand-by-hand and you cannot achieve one without the other,” he told CNN last spring. In response to accusations of antisemitism made against the movement, he told CNN that there was “no place for antisemitism” and said: “Our movement is a movement for social justice and freedom and equality for everyone.”

Last spring, negotiations with the university on severing ties with Israel were tense, as Khalil and his team went back and forth presenting proposals and counterproposals on what divestment could look like.

“He de-escalated when the university refused to negotiate in good faith,” the Columbia campus activist Maryam Iqbal said. “It’s why we made him lead negotiator.”

So the guy, who didn't do anything illegal. Helped de-escalate and lower the temperature of some of the idiots at the protest, the guy who brought some experience to the table and showed up without hiding his identity is being kicked out.
Did anyone find anything more detailed?

A Palestinian who is speaking in support of his own people is "Risk to the US?"

The strong believer in the constitution is too busy talking about anything else other than people being thrown in jail for saying the wrong thing.

Amazing the extent to which people prefer ongoing humiliation instead of admitting they made a mistake.
Words…

“lt is a great system, and I consider myself lucky to have been born in this time and this place.“ - Mr. Greenjeans

Shitlol

I mean, that guy is losing his rights.

Maybe it will go further still?

Betar, which has been labelled an extremist group by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a Jewish advocacy group, said on Monday that it had “been working on deportations and will continue to do so”, and warned that the effort would extend beyond immigrants. “Expect naturalized citizens to start being picked up within the month,” the group’s post on X read. (It is very difficult to revoke US citizenship, though Trump has indicated an intention to try.)

Newsweek, left wing rag.

Huh? Is that sarcasm? The general attitude here is that Newsweek is now a far-right-wing clickbait site.

[edit] I mean, I know little about it, not my media. But I remember the print version long ago, and that I always considered it centre-right (or liberal at best). And I gather it's long since been hijacked by the infantile right.

Because it isn't true? We already know you only believe stuff coming from Fox so why openly make yourself even more of a laughing stock?

Oh BTW -

Maybe your distain is better aimed at Republicans.

If even Fox News says it as news, shows up how screwed up is US now.

Pfft..

Everyone knows Fox News is fair and balanced.

They report, you decide!

Did you decide between spending cuts and the Constitution yet? Interested to know where you landed.
Fat cats hide behind lobbyists, representatives and ultimately the Constitution to continuously rob tax payers and line their pockets for decades.

The system is abused and broken. We need decisive action and cuts unilaterally. The Republican majority can rubber stamp it later.
