...handled the Confirmation today with leadership and aplomb I was not sure he had after the incredible happenings in Florida.

He even called down the Congressional Black Caucaus! They walked out....

My hat is off to Al Gore!

Just too bad the CBC did not go away permently!

The few minutes shown on NBC evening news revealed that Gore did his job well and what a bunch of sore losers we have in government.

no joke, I was amazed how he kept striking them down asking if they had their objections signed by a senator. One after another, each one would evade the question and make some jab about their higher calling / disenfranchisement of the people / voices in their head that told them to do it, he would repeat the question asking for a direct answer, which they then admitted to not having the needed signature from a senator. I'll give Al credit, it takes alot of cahones to be able to force parliamentary procedure when people are trying to do something that would help you out personally.

Al Gore did a great job of sucking it up and doing what he had to do today. I respect him for keeping things dignified.

I agree.

Didn't the fact that none of them had a Senator's signature seem a little suspicious? Maybe I'm a little too paranoid, but I had the idea that the whole thing was staged, and the representatives were told not to get Senators' signatures so that Gore could stand up there and look like the bigger man to gain back some of the respect he lost during the recount fiasco. Of course, you'll have to take my opinion with a grain of salt, as I was part of the old "vast Right-Wing conspiracy". ;) I just know that if I were to bring up a challenge I would go through every possibility in my mind and spend days, probably weeks, doing my best to make the thing airtight. You would think that at least one Democrat would have a Senator's signature.

Zenmervolt . . . yow. Yeah, that is a little bit of a conspiracy theory.

In all honesty, I think that Washington D.C. consists of far too many people concerned about their own welfare for there to be a vast right-wing conspiracy, or even a vast left-wing conspiracy.

Let's give Al Gore some credit here.
