Welcome screen issue.

Ok, so there is only 1 account on this computer besides administrator and there is no password on the account, yet when I turn the computer on for some reason it brings it'self to the welcome screen where I have to click on the name, then it logs in. Where is the setting that tells the computer to automatically log into the main user?

Also, is the ASP.NET account nessisary or can I delete it without things getting messed up?

you can specify which account is logged on automatically: run>control userpasswords2

The ASPNET account is only used with IIS to run ASP.NET applications

I've looked at control userpasswords2 and I am not seeing where you can specify which account is logged on automatically.

I see add, remove, properties, reset password. When you go to properties I am not seeing an option to select which one gets logged into by default.

On the advanced tab I see advanced user management, that doesn't seem to have the setting you are talking about.

Where exactly would you go on control userpasswords2 to specify the default account?

Uncheck "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer." It should then display a window where you can specify which account will be automatically logged on.

If you update your .NET 1.1 to the latest service pack (should be an update on Windows Update), the Welcome Screen problem should go away.
