Most bars sell six packs at grocery store prices; at least around me they do. I've never heard of the law about only carrying one six pack out at a time. I've bought multiple six packs at bars before and carried them out. I'm surprised they would let me break the law like that. 😛

But yeah, the liquor laws in this state are absolutely retarded. Liquor License is $50k, btw.

It will all work out fine. I imagine most of the metro Atlanta area will vote to allow sunday sales and the bible-thumpers in the rural areas will get to gleefully cast their "no" votes (assuming it's even put to a vote).
 
MN is annoying but not as bad as PA.

Grocery stores are limited to selling drinks with at most 3.2% alcohol. They can sell them anytime except Sunday before noon.

Other than that, the only places that can sell normal alcoholic drinks are licensed liquor stores, which are open 8 am to 10 pm Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday.

You can cross the border to Wisconsin to get beer, wine, or liquor on Sundays or from a gas station or grocery store, but they close at 9 pm instead of 10.
 
when colorado passed the law allowing sale on sunday....no one ever bought on sunday anyway because.


Hawaii Liquor laws > all.


I can go into a supermarket and pull out a handle of jack dagnels for cheaper than any mom and pop store in the country

Are the sin taxes significantly lower or ? I don't understand why it would be cheaper in Hawaii than in any of the other states that allow supermarkets to sell liquor. For me everything seems more expensive in Hawaii.
 
I don't see what the problem was in the first place. Sure you couldn't go out and BUY your alcohol on Sundays... but that didn't mean your still couldn't be running on Sundays...

also no hard liquor sales at all on sunday. this is probably something the liquor store owners don't really want to change as that means they'd have to be open for an additional day without increasing sales that much. sorta like car dealers (must be closed one weekend day, it's really about not paying employees).

No idea, probably because supermarkets can buy bigger quantities than mom and pop stores, and don't have to mark up as much. A 750ml bottle set me back about 16.99 this christmas, they run between 19.99-24.99 here. That was regular price, not sale price.

You can get beer (3.2% anyway) any day at gas stations or grocery stores.

You have to go to state liquor stores to get wine, spirits, "Malt Beverages" and higher % beer. These are not open on Sunday.

you couldn't be any more wrong. on Saturday one can go to the grocery or liquor store, buy alcohol, take it home and get drunk.

on Sunday, up until now, one would have to go to a bar or restaurant to drink and then make it back home.

It sounds like Hawaii's liquor laws are better than Colorado's. I'm still not seeing why "Hawaii Liquor laws > all."
 
All that bill did was allow voters from individual counties and cities to decide if they want alcohol sales.

A lot of counties in the state already serve and sell on Sundays, so in all honestly all this will do will force a vote on the measure. I am sure a lot of areas will still be dry when all is said and done.
 
rather just leave it like it is. if you're too stupid to get your alcohol on saturday then i probably don't want you drinking anyway.
