So I've been building a new rig recently with a P5N-E SLI, etc. and I've been trying for weeks to get it to post to no avail - I rma'd the motherboard, tried multiple types of memory and video cards and could never get it to post. I finally give up and take it to best buy (yes i know, pathetic) and it posts the first time they plug it in! needless to say, i am completely shocked. so i take it home and plug it in and it posts the first time i plug it in. i turn it off and turn it back on and now it won't post anymore, but nothing has changed at all. do you think i could have a power issue? why would it post in one place and not in another??? i've tried a couple of different outlets and still can't get it to post. anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Not posting usually mean memory problem. I'm think that it's the RAM not seating correctly or having a bad contact with the motherboard. Try shaking the board to see if it'll POST. Anyway, check the CMOS battery and clear the CMOS while you're at it.

It initially sounds like power issues, do you have another psu to test?
Also double check your psu plugs incase something is not seating correctly.

Could also be a problem with the cases power switch. I had a problem like this with a brand new self built system. It just wouldn't boot at all from the button. I knew it had power and all the connection where ok. I ended up shorting the power pins on the mobo and it would fire up every time. I could have ended up buying all sorts of parts if I hadn't tried this first. WARNING!!!! Its not a thing to try if you don't know exactly what your doing/risking :Q
