Weirdest problem ever...

Hey

I recently build a system with the following:

P4 2.6c
asus p4p800
512 mb ddr400 ram
ati radeon 9600


Now I installed windows xp, installed the intel chipset drivers, updated my windowxp, installed catalyst 3.10. Usually when I have a problem I can usually pinpoint what causes it but I have never seen anything like this:

In the games I have tried so far, namely Diablo 2 and c&c generals, everytimes the games try to run a in-game cinematic (and also changing resolution), I get kick back to desktop after a few monitor clicks. But the game havent crashed. It's just minimized and its imposible to get back to the game with alt-tab. I only succeed doing so with the task manager. ( and of course the video isnt displayed ) I can an image back when the video ends.

I would appreciate if anybody would help me solve this very annoying issue.

check dxdiag for your version number and make sure hardware acceleration is on.

what do you mean exacly?

go to start -> run and type dxdiag, go to the display tab and make sure directdraw / d3d acceleration say "enabled"

direct draw and direct 3d and texture are all enabled.

all the tests pass sucessfully

the games works well, beside that "games minize when there is a cinematic."

and also for instance in diablo 2 I c'ant change de resolution when In game. There seems to be something wrong because it wont take the 640x480 resolution...

anyone?
