... weird

We're animals too. Of course we masturbate. What's unnatural is people who deny themselves the pleasure. *tames the dragon, repeatedly, w/ lotion*

And a program to research selectively breeding them 😀

From his evil lair in the Vatican, the Pope is looking down upon this thread with disapproval in his eyes...

He recommended that doctors ask parents to videotape any suspected episodes of paroxysmal dystonic posturing. Viewing the tapes may help doctors avoid performing unnecessary invasive and expensive tests on children.

Yeah try explaining THAT to customs.

Did you think it was learned behavior? Where would people learn it from?
Just a tidbit, many higher order mammals also masturbate.

I dated a girl who told me about this because her parents used to tease her. Said they 'caught' her doing it from the time she was in diapers. She said she was around 12 or 13 before she actually thought about it and realized what she was doing. 😉

This article also does a good job of pointing out that people should NOT just blindly trust their doctors when they recommend drugs and/or surgery.

"But these children have had invasive procedures and have been treated with medication because their doctors either hadn't witnessed the movements or didn't recognize the behavior," Mink said.

How the fvck can a doctor "not recognize the behavior"? Or the parents for that matter?

This is just a guess, having no education in physiology outside of highschool, but I think infant "masturbation" has a different function than post-adolescence masturbation. The way infants learn about the world is not through their eyes, but their hands and mouth. It seems normal to me that an infant would be probing their whole body in an attempt to learn about themselves. The term masturbation itself refers to self-stimulation, the genitals do not have to be involved.

Also, is there actually any pleasure associated with prepubescent masturbation? For guys it doesn't even seem possible, but I guess for girls it can be?
