Well, my computer was running great and smooth

and now I just installed yahoo, and i got these mad popups, so I installed Nortans to run a test.. It found one Worm it said... I forget the exact name, it was MsLaugh.exe in my System32, so I went in and deleted it. I went to Msconfig and it has MsLaugh as a startup.. So I disabled and now everytime my comp starts... its slow as hell and my internet is sluggish, sites take forever to load and Diablo II runs at like 600 Ping instead of its normal 170.... Can anyone help me, I've ran many virus tests.

That appears to be a MyTob variant, plus whatever else it's installed after making the initial infection.

1) do you have a router, and if so, what brand and model is it? Also, are you using a software firewall?

2) download the manual scanner described in this document and extract it as described. Do not scan yet.

3) update Norton (legit, right?) with the latest everything.

4) Reboot in Safe Mode. Run my manual scan in Safe Mode. Also fully arm all of Norton's scanner features and scan with it too, while still in Safe Mode. Plan a snack break in here somewhere if you have a lot of data on your drive, it's going to take a while.

5) Reboot in normal Windows mode and see what's up.
