Ever since last night when I applied some updates my computer's been acting funny. I rolled back to a couple nights ago so I could try to figure out which update or program update caused it. I updated my Last.fm plugins as well as AIM but I'm not sure which Windows updates were downloaded cuz I have it set to automatically update.

The problems experienced include Firefox switching to a different theme when opened, except not just Firefox, my entire Windows. It goes back to the 98/2000 look. Also, my sound gets messed up and it says there's no sound hardware. Whenever I try to access volume control it gives me an error that says there are no mixer devices available. This is really frustrating but at least now I've figured how to get around it so that sound still plays for now. Any ideas? Also, loadup is really slow.
 
You can go to add and remove programs and see what's been loaded for updates. Did you try to use system restore? Scan the pc for viruses and trojans could be totally unrelated to the update just occurring at the same time. You might want to try uninstalling AIM AOL usually screws up everythhing. If all else fails,🙂 REFORMAT, it works every time
