Weird XP crap...

My roomate won't register on this forum to ask this but his XP installation is all mucked up. He clicked on the task manager which brings up the processes and such and all the tabs just disappeared. A reboot doesn't fix this, nor does he have a virus. Any clues? Thanks

Ok if I wanted coy bullsh|t I would have posted this at fark. For those who have enough brain power to continue, yes SP1 is installed, and it just shows the cpu tab.

I know this is in the wrong forum, but I don't have time to wait 2 hours to get one response in the OS forum, so just bear with this for 2 min while someone easily solves this and we can all go on our merry way, aye?

Any other thoughts?

double-click the top part of the window

Double-click up towards the top. I had that problem once (if I understand the problem correctly). That oughta fix it.

It also sounds like you missed the point of this website. It's a computer website, pretty simple. Off topic is pretty much still computer related no matter how you slice it. If you are looking for teenage angst forums or something, which seems to be the case, try searching elsewhere. And out of those 1000 posts he has, I'm sure they've been helping other people or contributing to a positive environment. The real question is why forum newbies with 30 posts start all kinds of bullsh"t for no reason and take away from that positive environment.

Mods can you lock please, this is probably going to be ugly and my problem is solved

I really do not wish to fight here at all. Shiner was trying to make a point from the amazon thread that he could not make there. I may be coming off as too righteous, but I don't know where the middle ground is. I'll find it, maybe. Maybe not. CR, if that's a good short name for you, I am under the assumption that your main topic is misplaced. That's my only opinion on this matter.
