Weird word problem...

One of my friends asked me this and I'm trying to think, but my coffee STILL hasn't kicked in this morning. If you're the 50th best at something and the 50th worst at something, how many people were rated? The choices are:

A 50
B 75
C 99
D 100
E 101

Um, if you're the 50th best it means that 49 people are above you at the thing. If you're the 50th worst it means that there are 49 worse. Thus 49 + 49 plus you = 99.
