i have a dlink 650+ wifi card in my laptop (inspiron 8500) and the dlink 614+ broadband router

i have a vtech 2.4 gighz wireless phone

everything works great, but everytime i get a call on my phone or make one my net gets disconnected

it comes back after a while but keeps toggling on and off

i am thinkings its the cheap walmart phone
i tried changing the channel on my wifi connection but no use
any ideas?

Is the phone receiver and router very close to each other? And by any chance is the antennae's wire right next to the wireless card when its in use?

I have 2.4GHz a/v transmitter set and when I switch on the microwave, bye, bye picture and sound.

Doesn't matter what channel I'm on or even if the microwave is in a direct path.

A lot of wacky interference.

i used the same router at my aunts place
before i bought the router i used 2 wifi cards in adhoc mode i got the same problem when the microwave was in use
but after i got the router for her (and used infrastructure mode) the problem was gone

its kinda irritating tho , i am thinking of returning the phone and getting a 900 mhz phone if cant solve it

You can either try experimenting with different channels on your WLAN (which was probably what happened when you went from adhoc to infra) or just get a 900MHz phone.

AdHoc between two Belkins would interfere with my 900MHz Wavebird wireless controllers. Control would stutter like the battery was going dead. All I had to do was change channels... Odd considering that it wasn't nearly the same frequency. The interferance would only start when I started copying large files.

Try changing channels on either the phone or the WiFi equipment.
