Ok, I don't know what started this bug or what I did right before I started but here goes the explanation.

Normal programs I have open:
AOL Instant Messenger
IE 5.5
Rambooster (been using for years and haven't had any probs)
Sometimes ICQ

Attempted explanation:
This happens whether the computer is being used or not.
- The scroll-lock light comes on.
- The 'Help' window for whatever program is the current one comes up.
- Window's 'Search' program comes up.
- If IE is open it goes into the 'Full screen' mode.
- The keyboard I/O seems to freeze as I can't type anything until after I am able to turn off the Scroll-lock.
- I am unable to turn off the Scroll-lock for a few seconds.

Ok, there it is. Anybody else confused yet? I know i'm gonna get some 'Rebuild the mother w/ Win98SE or Win2000 SP2' answers, but I'd really like to fix this without a rebuild.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks!

While were at it, I have a WinME bug that I would like help on as well...

Every time I restart windows, and get to my desktop, a couple of windows for folders on my harddrive open up EVERY SINGLE TIME! Nothing in my startup folders to my knowledge either...

fkloster - R u running IE6 BETA cos I had the same problem. The windows that would open was explorer (Not IE) and the controll panel. If you close WinME down with either windows open when it restarts it would open with another window.

It is a IE6 problem. Only way to get rid is to reinstall WinME. I'm not kidding.

Fubakatwork - Sorry. We r supposed to be helping u. LOL. But I can't as I don't have a clue what your problem is. I think you know what the inevetable is don't you. Crack open that GHOST image....

fkloster - Yeah, it's a bit of a bitch that cos I kinda liked IE6 Beta 2463/2465. I tried uninstalling IE6 in the add/remove programes and reinstalling 5.5 but the problem stayed. Had to reinstall. :(

I couldn't put up with for more than 5 mins.....did my head in.

I have one Explorer window that opens up upon log-in in Win2K (only on my home machine, oddly). I think it started after I used TweakUI to adjust some settings (pre-1.33 version I think). It's been that way for over a year now.

Go back to Windows 98 SE. Every 'new' product Microshaft puts out is crummier than the previous one.

I disagree Lucifer. Microsoft has put out many awesome products in their time. Where would the 'stupid-user world' be without them? My answer, computerless. Their software is SO huge and complex that it would be impossible for ANY software company to make a product perfect. Microsoft is the only one willing to take on such a huge task.

I think I'm gonna reinstall WinME from scratch. I really like it :)
