Weird... Why wont my vonage phone open my guard gate?

We live in a unattended gated community.... Box up front can call our phone and we press '9' to let folks in....

However, it dosent seem to work with our Vonage.

Is there something different w/ it that would keep it from working?

because when you press 9 on your phone the vonage box might be interpreting it and changing it into its own digital protocol that it uses on the network, just a thought

ur guard gate uses dtmf - or the tones..make sure its outputing tones. call ur bank and see if button pressing works, if not look at settings.
