Weird Video Problem

I have two almost identical computers, both with 7800GTX's running in SLi, both with the same NVidia chipsets, but one is Asus and the other is MSI (NVidia NForce4x16 I think). I am running raid0 raptors in the MSI Diamond Plus and non raid in the Asus (couldn't get windows to recognize at install and have no idea why, but that is another problem).

The problem I am having is when video's run, they stutter. The sound is ok, but the video is super choppy or slow. I tried removing the sound card and have all the drivers up to date. Sometimes I'll get an error saying the video card driver is not functioning properly and I will have to reboot. If I run the the same video on the Asus computer, no problems at all. I am wondering if there is a problem or conflict btw the raid drivers and the video cards. Any Thought? How do I check this out?

Thanks

One way to do it would be to unplug one of the HD in the computer you are having trouble with, disable the raid controller in the bios, uninstall the raid driver in safe mode, restart and test.

Also, are you using the same power supply in each? 2 gtx will draw a ton of power.

Sounds like an issue with not enough power to the cards. What power supply do you have in there and how is it connected to the cards, ie are there other devices on the power chain to the vid cards?

I'd also check to make sure MPEG2 codecs are installed. I didn't catch what kind of file type is causing this issue. However, I have seen mpeg 1 codec errors cause this by trying to play an mpeg 2 file.

Both computers have 600 Watt Enermax Noisetaker SLi Ready power supplies. I don't think that is it, but I also switched those to see if it made a difference.....it didn't. :(

I may have to try a fresh install on an IDE setup and see if it is the NVidia sata raid drivers screwing up the whole thing. The other thing to try would be a fresh install on the SiI Raid controller and see if that helps. I remember in the past with one of my older mobo's that the NVidia controller caused my computer to act screwy while the Promise one did not. Might have to try this out....I just hate having to call Microsoft to revalidate windows.

I first noticed it with FEAR. The intro when the Sierra mountain is coming on the screen is all choppy. The game itself will play fine through the tests, but crash if you try to play the game giving me the message about the nVidia drivers not functioning properly. I can't figure it out. Video CD's run through Media Player seem to run fine. I haven't tried to run a DVD movie yet. So far it seems to be video associated with games. I am not sure what file type they use.
