Ok, I just installed Win 64 on a SATA drive on my A8N32-SLI Deluxe. This system has been running well for several months prior to this new install (I had a PATA boot disk and moved to a SATA Raptor). The install went without a hitch _until_ I boot up the new windows. I see the 'Windows' splash screen but when it goes to the desktop the whole display looks it was 'twisted' (illegable but roughly horizontal 'squished lines' - I can tell the desktop is there, but not being displayed correctly (even though the splash screen and bios screens are ok). Is this a synch problem? A driver issue? Note that nothing aside from windows has been installed at this point. I also get the same result (illegable screen) when I try to boot into safe-mode.

I spoke with the video card vendor (likely candidate) and they could not reccomend any way to debug the card aside from moving it to a working system. As I do not have another PCI-E mobo, I was hoping that someone could recco any way of debugging this problem. I have checked the power connector and have enough voltage (Seasonic s-12 600W). I have also checked the monitor and cable.

System specs
A8N32-SLi Deluxe (bios 1009)
Operion 170 (not overclocked)
4G PC3200 RAM (OCZ Platinum)
WD Raptor (150G) on SATA 1
Seasonic S-12 600W
Win XP 64 Pro
eVga 7800GTX (not overclocked)

I am not using RAID and this system (including video card) was running ok prior to this new install.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Will
