Anyone know a possible solution to this problem? I've tried going to www.usbman.com but none of the solutions there solved the problem. My USB ports seem to lose power sometimes and "reset" ... Like as if power to the ports goes out for a second and then comes back. My Intellimouse Explorer also slows down sometimes for some reason too as if it isn't getting enough power. I have 2 USB root ports, one that is plugged into a powered 8-port USB hub, and one that is plugged into a Microsoft Internet Pro keyboard. I've tried multiple times to switch devices onto the hub and off the hub and plug and unplug devices with no luck ... I switched Windows 2000 from Standard PC to ACPI mode to see if that would help, no luck. I also tried installing the VIA USB Filter driver which didn't help (it doesnt seem to do anything in Windows 2000). Tried different bios settings ... Seems like I've tried everything. My USB ports used to work fine until about 2 months ago or so ... I don't know what changed except I swapped out my GeForce 2 GTS for a GeForce 2 Ultra and I reinstalled my OS (Just a clean install of Windows 2000). Any suggestions or ideas are welcome! (short of buying a new motherboard, computer, or a PCI USB card since I have no free PCI slots) :)

Are far as resources go, what is your USB port sharing IRQ's with?

Heh. 133a and USB. I'd say just get a cheap USB controller card or forget about it.

I have lots of problems with USB devices on my KT7A. I've given up. I'll be on the nForce train when they hit.

Well, with ACPI I can't tell what IRQs are being shared or used by the system since ACPI dynamically assigns IRQs to devices based on need. When I was using just the Standard PC setup, it was sharing an IRQ with my Promise Ultra 100 card and I believe one other card, probably my TV tuner (Hauppauge WinTV-D). I thought it was an IRQ problem at first but with ACPI it shouldnt have any IRQ problems and I also didn't have any problems when I had the same hardware configuration but a GeForce 2 GTS instead of a GeForce 2 Ultra ... I thought that maybe the GeForce 2 Ultra is pulling too much power through the AGP slot causing my problem but I'm not sure ... Any other ideas ? :) Thanks for the comments thus far.
