So here's my dilemma:
My printer recently stopped working on my computer (maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago). Plugged it into my laptop and it prints just fine. Uninstalled the printer (Epson 320) software and drivers, and installed from the web, and same thing. Uninstalled and reinstalled from the original CD: same thing.
Since then, I've found that my digital camera still connects to the computer (Olympus 110 (?) with a dock) and my Logitech 5000 webcam works fine. However, I can't use any Flash/USB drive or an external hard drive with the computer. Firewire works just fine.
Tried different USB ports on the motherboard (Asus P5GD1). I also had a PCI USB card on the computer...printer and USB Drives still don't work.
Tried removing the USB drivers, rebooting, and letting Windows XP SP2 detect the USB drivers. No go with the printer. Repeated that, but let WinXP detect the drivers from the motherboard CD. No go again.
Only other thing I can think of is that I installed a new power supply. Have an Antec Sonata case with the original power supply, which was working fine. Upgraded the power supply to an Antec Earth Watts 430. I think I've had the problems with the USB ever since switching out the power supply.
Could the power supply be the problem? What else should I do/Check?
Thanks in advance!
