Weird thing happened to me today...

A few months ago, i did a transaction on Eb@y. Sold someone a Sony cd-burner, got paid by Paypal, mailed it out, got delivery confirmation, and received positive feedback from the buyer. I forgot all about it, until today.

I came home from work today, and on the doorstep of my apartment is a box from the post office. That's odd, i think - i haven't ordered anything, or purchased anything on the forums lately... stranger still, the box is labeled "return to sender" I think, 'oh crap, someone's going to be pissed at me, i put the wrong address on something i sold at the AT forums...'

Anyway, i open up the box, and inside is the burner i Eb@y'ed months ago... and still sealed in the orginal package, shrink wrapped and all.

I don't know what to think... the bidder's email no longer works, and now i have something which was bought and paid for (and feedback left for) back again. Has anyone else ever had something like this happen to them? I know i sure haven't.... Strangeness...

Update: i looked closer, it actually says "refused" on the return label (?) WTF ?

Did he give you a phone nunber? If not, try to find one here. If you can't get a match, send him a letter and see if you get a response.

You should at least try to contact him, but I'm thinking you made some free money here.

he might have given me a phone # at one time... but this was literally months ago, the original postmark on the box from when i first mailed it is July 8! Even if he did, i sure don't have it anymore...

Well, try to contact him. Save your emails you send him. Then, sell it again. If he ever does get in contact with you, you can turn around and give him the money back, less shipping. If you're not able to get as much for it the second time (as you did when he bought it), you should also subtract this difference.

You can get his information from e-Bay. Go under their Safe Harbor section. You can get the name, address, and phone number of any person who you transacted business with. I had to do this to follow up with a deadbeat seller.
