I heard from a friend, who heard from a friend, who had this friend(we will call her Amy) that was at a store in line and there was this Arab in front of her who was $3 short on what he owed for his groceries so Amy, being nice gave the man $3 dollars to help him out...after paying he grabbed his groceries and went out the door...so Amy then also paid for her groceries and was heading to her car when the man came up to her and thanked her for being so nice in helping him out, then he was walking away and turned around and said "don't buy Pepsi after Sept. 1" and walked away...don't know if this guy was just being weird but I think im stay'n away from Pepsi for a month or two just in case...

...and we were supposed to stay out of the malls last Halloween, too...

I would put in a rolling eye smiley, but no rolling smiley exists that could truely convey my eye rolling-ness at this story. This isn't AOL, and as such, stupid 14-year-old girl "friend of a friend" forwards are not allowed. Stop spreading the stupidity.

Edit: I would expect somebody with your kind of system (CABLE!) to be above the level of this fecal-matter. Please tell me you don't use AOL with your cable...

Even if ALL pepsi was poisoned on sept. 1, it would take a while to sell all the "old stock" pepsi..

heh... I heard from a friend who heard from a friend who heard from a friend... etc... that the exact same event happend, but he said to not drink Coke.

don't worry, i wouldn't buy pepsi anyways

btw, i was nice to an arab guy at the gas station the other day, and i got no such warning. maybe he missed the meeting.

actually, the most likely reason for the arab saying not to drink pepsi is that pepsi is apparently owned by an Israeli, or some1 who heavily supports Israel. being an arab, its not surprising to see that he doesn't want you to drink pepsi, and thus indirectly support Israel. there are actually a great number of muslims who are currently boycotting Pepsi and their affiliated companies and soft drinks. just an FYI

Later versions of the rumor targeted Pepsi, substituting it into the tale as the beverage the mysterious stranger warned against. Throughout the summer of 2002, we've watched as the date to stop drinking sodas by has been pushed back time and again -- in the earliest versions, folks were cautioned not to drink Coke after June 1, but we've seen this date rolled forward as time went on and nothing bad happened to any soda drinkers. Later recipients of the alert were warned to give up the fizz before June 15 and then July 4. Pepsi versions began appearing, specifying August 1, then August 20. Always the date given would be no more than a couple of weeks later than the date of the e-mail, making it seem as if the threat were imminent.
