about a wk ago, i started getting this weird spam on my yahoo mail, hundreds a day, sent by 'me' with a string of letters in the content part, but never a link. it doesn't seem harmful but it's super annoying b/c not only is my spam folder full of them, every day i have a few that end up in my inbox

Change your Yahoo password. If it really is being sent by someone that hacked your account, that will stop them. If it is someone just spoofing your address, I don't think there's much you can do except ignore them.

yea i've changed my password at least 2 times and it hasn't stopped. just want to make sure it's not some weird virus or malware

does it ask you to download anything. If so its malware
What in your opinion is the main purpose of the malware.
I would reccomend getting a new account and telling your contacts and porting all important stuff and just move on

well, it stopped for some unknown reason so problem solved. so either changing my password worked or it was some crazy secret message meant for someone else. there were no links, just a string of different random letters in each email
