weird sound coming from the 4870x2

i wonder if anyone has this problem..my new 4870x2 gives off a weird sound whenever it is under load.It has a high pitch sound whenever a 3D application is running.is this normal?

I think it's normal, mine makes the same noise under load. Not a fan noise, but a high-pitch osillation type noise. Comes from the digital circutry, gpus, whatever. I think it's normal. Crank up the speakers a little.. :thumbsup:

thanks guys..i did some research and also called up powercolor and the engineer told me it is normal as most of the power hungry cards have the same issue..and i have affirm with quite a number of my friends..

Inductor sing/coil whine - fairly common with these things. I made a recording of my 8800 doing it when stressed out and it was creepy.
