weird sound card problem

This just started happening today and I have no idea what's causing it. It just started happening in the middle of nowhere.

When I watch a video, the audio in it has a really loud echo, so bad that I can barely hear the voices. When I listen to an mp3 I can hear the music really loud but barely hear the voice of the person singing the song and also my windows sounds sound more like really low blips instead of clicks now, almost like the pc speaker. Also the voices in the movies, while hollow with an echo also kinda sound robotic. Oh and the PC Speaker controls in the volume control don't seem to have any effect on anything. It doesn't work if I try muting it or raising the volume on it. The rest of the volume controls work fine.

I have tried uninstalling the sound card and reinstalling, using different drivers, etc.. and also tried headphones and some speakers but nothing is fixing the problem.

Any help on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.

You might wanna try changing the slot it's in and make sure ur sound settings are at default, otherwise I think you may have to call creative for a RMA.

The Audigy can be very itchy. Are you using WindowsXP? Make sure SP-1's installed. Creative cards are also very annoying what ACPI and IRQs are concerned. I haven't had any trouble since I installed SP-1....I'm even running beta drivers at the moment. Before SP-1, I tried everything and nothing seemed to work.
