Weird slow network transfer speeds

Machine #1 - XP SP3 on RAID 0 (personal)
Machine #2 - XP SP3 (server)
Machine #3 - Vista Ult SP1 (htpc)

The slowness only occurs when I transfer anything from #1 to any of the other PCs. However if I transfer anything from #2 or #3 to #1, the speeds are fine. Same with going from #2 to #3 and vise versa. Doesn't seem to be a RAID issue either because I have a standalone SATA drive in #1 as well but outbound transfers are still slow from that drive but all inbound is ok.

AV and firewall is turned off on #1 to eliminate the possibilities of those interfering. I'm pretty much stumped at the moment. Any ideas?

Then there is something hindering outbound trafic on system #1. It may just be a problem the the NIC.

Question: How much RAM does each system have? Does #1 have less then the others?

#1 might have a bad network cable as well. Swap the cable with one of the other computers and see if the problem persists on computer 1 or if it follows the cable.

And if that doesn't fix it, run a read/write speed test on the hard drives on system #1 - if the read speeds are slow it's the hard drives or hard drive cables or maybe the controller. If the speeds are fine then you've narrowed it down to the NIC or a software problem.
