Ok, so for the past few days I've been experiencing these weird sensations prior to falling asleep. I'll be lying in bed, and it feels like I just fell asleep and then I'll wake up out of that sleep state of mind as though I was kinda just zapped or something. It's similar in nature to when you kinda move be it your leg or arm while falling asleep. Anyone experience this or know what I'm talking about?

What, where you're about to slip into peaceful slumber, when it suddenly feels like you fell out of bed or something and your whole body tenses suddenly, waking you up?

That's pretty common, actually.

I experience similar things as well. sometimes my body jolts and and I wake up. some other times my vision flashes white/static and I hear a loud noise as well, it's like my sensory system gets completely overloaded or something

Yes, very similar to this. It's quite annoying. Have you seen a doctor for it? If so, what did he or she say?

You described it very well. Do you know if it has an actual diagnosis or name?

Nope haven't seen a doctor. I just assume it's normal. it's actually kind of infrequent. maybe once or twice a week or even less frequent

edit: actually this vision anomaly might be separate from the tensing. it's easy to mix them up because memory from the half-alseep state is rather fuzzy.

Ok maybe it's a little different from what you guys experience as what I experience bothers me. I mean it feels very strange. I've felt the twitch or two as well as made a few noises like peeps but nothing to this degree where I am falling asleep and just out of no where suddenly reawake and kinda like think to myself, wtf was that?

Ok thanks. I now feel that that is indeed what I am having. That is interesting to say the least. I guess I may be exhausted and or have some other condition underlying or something. I'm still going to the doctor for my high blood pressure on Monday though.

Yep, happens to me all the time. It tends to happen to me more often when I am stressed.

Check for fresh needle marks on your body. Maybe, some UFO brought you up for experiments and then brought you back...

There called sleep starts.

As your falling asleep your body relaxes, kind like the same as if your unsupported, falling through the air. This confuses your brain, which belives that it is falls, thus it braces your body, jolting you awake. Your brain want to explain this to the concious mind which is why this is often accompanied by some sort of dream.

Yeah I know excactly what you're talking about. It happens to me about once a month or so. Not very often, but it does happen.
