Mmm... kinda pissed.

My glasses... one of the nosepiece things snapped off and fell down the drain. You know the part that keeps it on the nose- like it goes on the side of the nose. nosepad/nosepiece whatever.

...Nose looks really weird when you write it that many times.

Anyways. the metal snapped (so not at a screw or anything) and the piece with the nosepad fell down the drain. So now i have glasses with.. half a nosepiece? wtf am i supposed to do? Thanksgiving isnt for another month... (I'm 700 miles away from home).

Semi-panicing/fully pissed right now. Am I overreacting and this is easily fixable? or WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO FREAKING DO.

Edit: I'm over it now, but keeping OP intact for comedic value.

If this is a "weird situation", you fail at life.

What does Thanksgiving have to do with getting your glasses fixed, and why is this causing a panic situation? Just go to a place that sells glasses, and get them fixed...

Bleh. I'm just annoyed cause now my vision is all screwy.

Um, i'm sorry, its not the bridge, its the part that goes on the side of the nose. So basically right now one lens is really close to my eye and the other is normal distance. And the whole thing is sort of at a tilt.

Its weird because things like this arn't normal, like a bunch of frat boys asking me to take a picture of them with their pants down holding open gay porno mags to the centerfolds. When the weird become commonplace the common suddenly don't make sense anymore. I guess I should just go get new frames or something.

Re: Astaroth33, Thanksgiving would be the first time i could go back and get new frames. Unless of course I went to the Wal-mart here. Duh.

Go to Walgreens.
Purchase the wax people use when they have braces (I forget the name).
Use the wax for the next month to make a makeshift standoff rubber piece.

I think the wax is about $2 per case. Cheap temporary fix.

Nah its not just the rubber piece, its the rubber piece + half the metal extending from the frame. Snapped at the metal + down the drain ftw. (lose?)

how about silicon glue? you can form it into a teardrop shaped nosepeice, let it dry (dries mostly clear), and it's soft yet firm when done. then attach it to the nosepiece with some superglue. temp fix. but won't look half bad if you get the silicon glue the right shape and size  GL

College eh? I took a ride up to UC Davis one weekend without telling my parents, and I lost my contacts while swimming. Hey, I never knew these new lenses just fell right off in the pool. I've done competetive swimming before and I've definitely had contacts in the water before . I only hopped in that time and got right out after swimming across a small pool and the lenses were gone.

I made up some BS story to my parents and got a ride back home. They got pissed as hell for my losing of $500 contacts, but still... yea...

All you really need is temporary glasses right? GO to Pearle Vision or Costco or somewhere and get a temporary cheap set of lenses. In my situation, I just went back to an old pair of contacts for ac ouple of months and when I could renew my vision plan again, I got a new replacement pair.
