i have a lsiu160 card installed in a abit kt7raid board. when i connect a hdd to the card, the system posts, all looks good and after the scsi posts, i get a message that says "HIT A KEY TO REBOOT", i hit a key and the sytem just reboots and goes through this again. i can install the card into the system with a ide drive and have no problems until i attach a scsi hdd. any ideas?

What type of drive is it?

Is the SCSI drive ID'd and terminated correctly? Is this a known good drive or a recent purchase? Can you stop the boot at the SCSI BIOS load and see the drive recognized on the card itself? (Don't know about LSI, but on my Adaptec 19160 it's Ctrl-A to go into SCSI BIOS.)
There might be an option in the SCSI BIOS for designating a particular disk as a boot disk.

Sorry for all the questions, but I have a similar setup and had a similar problem myself.

maxtor atlas IV 36GB, 10K

ID'd and terminated correctly and it is a known good drive as i just took out of another machine.

the setting in the scsi bios are the same on this new machine as they were in the machine it was taken out of

the lsi card does see it correctly in its post screen

thanks for the help :)
