Weird Score on WD Black 640

I noticed some noise coming from this drive so I ran HD tune. I get weird drop-offs in read-speed, with min transfer rate in the range of 10mb/sec. Should I be worried?

The drops themselves aren't weird if your drive is being used for the Windows install. The 10MB could be an anomaly, the noise might be a bigger indicator on its own. What does the SMART data show? (HDTune Health tab)

no... don't worry about it. Occasionals dips like that can happen in our multithreaded OSs. It means duriing that particular read for that short amount of time, your system was busy with something else.

If you are worried about the noise, run the WD Diagnosis.

Thanks for the help. I ran the extended test in WD Diagnostics and everything passed, but I still feel like it's louder than it should be.

The hard drive is in the case under my desk, but I can clearly hear the clicks when files are loading. This is by far the loudest hard drive I've owned. Is this known as a loud drive?
