I put the card in the pci slot, fit in there with some slight pressure (might be a prob?) I power on the PC, it loads Windows (XP), and it displays that thing in the taskbar (found new hardware>pci multimeda audio controller>sb audigy platinum) I go to install the drivers from the CD, and it says it cannot detect the card on my system? It shows up on device manager, and says the device is functioning correctly. Any ideas? It can't be the PCI slot itself, because I had a previous SB Card in there. I tried the card in other PCI slots, and still no luck.

Your quickest fix would be to visit Creatives w3 and just d/l the newest drivers from them. See if that works.

hmm, you're supposed to cancel the found new hardware wizard then autorun the audigy cd to install the drivers!

I had this very thing happen to me. It recognized my new hardware but the system could not recognize the card. As far as W2K was concerned I did not have a sound card. I could not install the newer downloaded drivers because it said that I was using some default sound card that prevented installation of the new drivers. Can't remember the technical terms that it spat out.

My only work around was to reformat my hard drive. No problems with installation when I did this. But I must say it's rather an extreme method to install a darn sound card. I did this just 3 weeks ago.
