Here it is.. I need to get a copy of MS-DOS 3.3! I am testing some old stuff & it requires 3.3 or back. I have a copy that I tried to use but it would not work. What I did it to copy IO.sys & msdos.sys to a: along with command.com & could not boot from a: I made sure the attrib settings for the *.sys files were +h + r + s, but it would not work.
Any help with this dumb project would be grateful!

Thank you, Rhonda

Just copying the files to the bootdisk don't work. They have to be put into specific locations on the disk. Copy io.sys, msdos.sys, and command.com to a directory (say c:\olddos). You then need the sys command that goes with those (not sure if another will work), and then type:

sys c:\olddos a:

you should then have a boot disk. If that don't work I can't help ya. Oldest DOS I ever ran was 5.0 and I no longer have the disks to that. You might try www.freedos.org though. They've got an open source DOS-thing going. It might would work for you.

You might also want to do a search on google for DOS and abandonware. You might come up with it.
