weird question--cpu cooler brackets

So I have a pretty old (five years?) xigmatek air cooler, which had some rubber belts that attached the fan onto the front. It is drying out and on the verge of breaking. The item is out of production. So what do people use otherwise? I'm assuming there isn't going to be a replacement metal spring that's universal for all air coolers.

zipties works very well for holding fans where they should be. 😀
Just dont use them to hold the heatsink on the motherboard, as that requires some form of mounting pressure.

I guess I was thinking about the plastic against the metal heatsink, not knowing how hot it actually gets--though thinking about it, currently it's on rubber so what's the difference.
