Weird problem

For some reason my PC kept clicking things I didn't and it kept typing things I hadn't. Now I ran a virus scan and a MalwareBytes scan and the only thing that came up was a couple adwares. Advice?

I restarted the machine and it seems like that fixed it but I am still a little wary of what it might have been

change the batteries in your mouse?

Wasn't just the mouse. Words were also appearing that I didn't type that time. Pretty sure I'd typed them before though. Also the page on the my browser went back a few times. Also my mouse and keyboard are both wired
