I have an amd machine running winxp pro with a netgear 4port router.
12 hours after the computer last booted up, the internet dies, sort of. I can't access any webpages, any other computers on the network, or even the router's config utility.
What does work however, are existing connections and forwarded ports.
Instant messenger, if it was on at the 12 hour mark, will stay on indefinitely. Should it disconnect however, it won't be able to reconnect. I also have vnc running and the router forwarding the appropriate ports. It's possible to vnc into the computer after the 12 hours.
Releasing and renewing the ip always fails. When I try to access network properties, I get an error. All these problems go away with a reboot.
Anybody got any ideas as to what the cause of this may be?
