I know this has got to be a hardware problem since I've been getting it ever since I got this pc.

The specs are as follows:
P3 550mhz
256megs of micron ram (pc133)
Asus P2B-LS motherboard
Asus V3800 pure
5x Creative dvd
52x creative cd-rom
Hollywood Plus decorder card
18.2 gig IBM scsi hard drive
13gig Seagate hard drive
3 fan hard drive cooler (for the scsi)
In-win A500 case with 250watt powersupply

Now the problem is evey once and a while during boot up it says can't find vmm32.vxd file press any key to continue.

I've done a bios update, that didn't fix my problem. I've ruled the CPU and memory, since I had a p3 450 in there before and some generic ram.

Anyone have a clue where I could start? This is starting to become a pain.

Thanks

SMP is correct. Looks like you have corrupted some windows files. So reinstall windows and you'll be all set.

Peace..

Oh I forgot to mention, I've formated many #'s of times. I've installed different OS, Win98se, WinME, Win2k pro, Whistler beta 2.

All gives me the same error.

What drivers are you using? If they are all drivers from manufacturer. Unistall everything and work your way through the add in cards untill the problem happens again. When it does. Remove that Item completely and try something ealse. If it doesn't happen then it was that previous device.
