I'll just be using my computer doing anything and all of a sudden my screen will go to some weird colours. They can be striped or fuzzy. Sometimes the monitor will even turn off because the video is not there anymore. Then i'll reboot and all is back to normal until it happens again. It happens randomly and nothing in particular triggers it. I could be surfing or just clicking on something or just running any program. It started about 3 weeks ago and now it occurs more frequently.
I thought it was a video card problem so i bought a new one and it still happens. I know it's not the monitor. Someone told me it's probably the RAM. I don't want to buy something again to find out it's not the problem. I want to make sure i know what it is. It's really annoying. I've had this rig for 2 years now and this only started about 3 weeks ago.
I have a 1.4GHz amd cpu
WinXP pro
Epox 8K7a mobo
2x 256MB Ram crucial
I decided to take out the ram and switch slots with them and i'll see if that works, but i have to solve this problem. Is it the mobo or ram?
