I've got an IBM P3 Netvista and over the past 2 weeks it took it about 10-30 minutes to warm up so that it would post and then it worked perfectly fine.
Yesterday it took about 40 minutes, and it spontaneously rebooted 3 times before I could log in and work ok.
Today, it took about 3 hours...
My observations:
There are no beeps even after removing the memory, all the cards have been reseated, all the capaciters look ok, removed the heatsink and the cpu looked alright.
Whenever I start the machine, I can hear the CD rom driver power up and the power supply turn on. The fan in the power supply is working, but the case fun is not. The hard drive light does not come on til it starts posting.
Technician over the phone said probably a bad cpu, I guessed a bad mobo. Anyone else want to guess?
