xp pro corrupted my drive and now my keyboard wont work outside of the bios. i started to install xp pro. it loads setup and then bam, BSOD. I restart with original xp disc in the drive and select boot from floppy. I get that screen that says press any key to boot from cd and my keyboard doesnt work. it works just fine in the bios setup. I try the same thing booting from a dos startup disk. Same result, keyboard stops functioning. I dont know what else to try. Ive cleared the cmos. Nothing. After i select a boot option i lose complete control. If i jsut let it try to boot the HDD it flashes a screen that lets me choose xp home or xp pro install. of course my keyboard doesnt work and it defaults to xp pro install where i get BSOD again.

Anyone have any ideas. The HDD is a SATA drive. Could that have something to do with it? Im lost. Would appreciate all suggestions.

Your keyboard won't work, because it is hooked up to USB, and you have USB keyboard support disabled in the BIOS. By the way, what motherboard do you have?
