I bought a 1 gig cas2.5 dual channel kit from GEIL, and since installing it, I get errors when using torture test with the most memory intensive settings. I first tried upping the voltage to the max of the range, and that didn't help. I then went to cas 3 just to see if it would be stable there and I got an error almost immediatly. This is the weird part: Since the problem seemed to get worse with cas 3, why not try cas 2? Well I tried it, and it worked for 17 mins before I got an error. What might cause this? I installed this memory in a mobo prior to this one and an IC on the mobo smoked. I emailed GEIL about it and they said the memory couldn't cause it. It just makes no sense to me that it's more stable at cas 2 than cas 2.5 or 3.
