Weird problem.....
If I spend about 15 minutes (sometimes far less, sometimes more) on ebay, suddenly my internet connection seems dead... If I unplug the router, count to 10, plug it back in, all is well..

ideas?
Only happens on ebay. Win98SE, Netgear router

does it happen all the time on ebay? i find its common for a router (especially when the router is fairly new dont know why) to every once in awhile lose the connection and resetting it fixes it again nothing to worry about

I could swear I just read about someone with that same problem earlier today. Might not have been here, but it was the same issue - after 15 minutes on ebay, his net connection would get hosed up and he had to reset the router.

I know that's no help, but maybe it's not a fluke.

I had added that to the bottom of another post about waiting for an auction to close.... maybe it was in that post.

Happens all the time.. a couple of times a week at least... (several times a night sometimes)
I can't recall having to reboot the router EXCEPT while I was surfing ebay.
This has been happening for months.

I don't have a router (I use dial up), but I know my computer will occasionally get hosed up when I go to ebay and log in. I don't remember rather it's the cookies or the temp files that I have to delete to get it to work right, I guess occasionally I reach the maximum hard disc space for crap that ebay sends to the computer so it rejects it and plays havoc on my internet connection. The funny thing is that usually if I disconnect and then reconnect to the internet I can get through a few pages on ebay again before it gets fubared.

Korn, read the link I posted...this ebay "funtion" is probably the cause of your problem as well...
