Weird OC Problem

Hey all, I'm running into a weird problem when I'm trying to overclock (further).

My components are
-4400+ @ 2.4 ghz (240 FSB, Mem divider at .83 giving 200 mhz, and multi x10) with stock voltage... I think my mobo undervolts because it says 1.28 in both CPUID and Everest
-MSI Neo4 Platinum/SLi
- 2 GB 2-3-2-5 OCZ Platinum
-HTT @ 3x

Alright... When I try to push my CPU further (it should go with more voltage, right?), and try to run my memory at 200mhz, I bump my FSB up to 300, and mem divider at .66 giving it 200mhz, I can't even post. If I keep the FSB at 300, and lower the divider to .5, it boots and all. I'm really confused why it would post at 240x10, with 200mhz ddr, and 300x6 (what I tested to see if it would boot) with 150mhz ddr, but not 300x6 with 200mhz ddr. Any clues?

No clues as why I can run 200 mhz DDR with 240mhz FSB but not 200mhz DDR with 300mhz FSB?

Probably something to do with your memory controller on the CPU....but I'm not an expert on the issue :p

hmm.. well f a memory controller! I still want to get this problem figured out though.

Check your memory timing. If you are on auto and use memory divider, the mem divider thinks the RAM actually runs at lower clock and set the ram timing at more agressive timing. Always set the Mem timing manualy when overclock.

For example, at HT 300 and 2:3 divider, the ram will run at 200mhz, but the bios assume it's running at 133mhz, and assign the timing for 133hz, which is almost always too agressive for the 200hz actual clock.

You are PRO man can you teach me how to OC P4 3.06 533fsb on ASUS P4S533VL
with 1gb ram and 9800pro ?

yea my memory timing is the same whether I'm at 300mhz or 240mhz fsb
