weird networking problem.....

My friend has DSL and is sharing it via a hub....theres a server and a client...everything is connected properly...
but on the client, the internet works..except for www.cnn.com and www.ebay.com...i cant even ping it...but those sites work on the Server comp...does anyone know whats going on??

Try placing http:// in front of that, ie type http://www.cnn.com in the address bar.

yea i tried everything...even used 2 differnt browsers....
the wierd thing is, it starts connecting to the site...on the very top of the window it puts the Site title...like "Ebay..the Worlds largest online auction site" or wahtever it says..but then it stops loading with nothing in the content window

Try deleting temporary Internet files and cookies, reboot.

What routing software is he using?

I know that some software wants you to only surf through Socks, not Http, Https, Ftp, etc...

Read the help file with the routing software.

the server has Sygate installed...i did install it on the client but it still didnt work, so i specified all the addresses in TCP/IP..
I deleted the temp files, but not cookies and it did not work

Might not be you. The ISP's routing tables may be screwed.
