Weird networking problem

Two comps, one is a laptop. Both have Win98SE installed. I have them networked and I can see both comps in the network. When I access the laptop C drive from this comp, I can see all the directories. But if I open the History directory or the Temporary Internet directories, it shows what is on this comp not what is on the laptop. If I check the properties of the Temporary Internet directory and it shows 10 megs in size, I can delete what is on this comp and check the properties again and it shows the size is smaller. But, no files will show from the laptop. Any suggestions? It doesn't matter if I share the C drive or just share that directory.
