Weird network problem

Hopefully, someone can help me troubleshoot a weird network problem I'm having.

I have 3 linksys 160n routers running dd-wrt. Two are plugged into one that connects to my cable modem. Only the one plugged into the cable modem is running DHCP, the other two have it turned off.

On the network, I have a windows 8.1 machine, win7 machine, an xbox1, an xbox360, a roku3, and a printer. Everything connects to the internet fine.

Both the win8.1 and win7 machines are new installs due to some upgrading. Both windows machines are part of a homegroup with the xbox1.

Here's my problem: The win7 machine can connect to the admin page of my router at 192.168.1.1. I can also connect to the admin page of my router wirelessly on a laptop. But I can NOT connect to the admin page on my win8.1 machine.

At the same time, my win8.1 machine won't print to the network printer which is a brother mfc7440n.

Obviously something is messed up with my win8.1 box but I have no idea what the problem is. Anyone have any ideas?

Try disabling IPv6 on the Win8.1 machine.

Hmmm, disabling IPv6 didn't change anything. Didn't hurt, but didn't fix anything either.

Disconnect all clients except for the Win8.1 machine and printer, and test.

Also, is this a wired or wireless connection?

Thanks for your ongoing help with this. It continues to baffle me.

Ok, I disconnected everything. Network topography now goes:
Cable Modem > dd-wrt router > win8.1 box. Wired connections. I reset the router to defaults by using the reset button on the router.

The win8.1 computer can connect to the internet. Router ip address is 192.168.1.1, confirmed with ipconfig -all. I can ping the router and get a reply.
I can NOT connect to admin interface of the router by typing 192.168.1.1 in a browser window on the win8.1 machine.
I CAN connect to the admin interface of the router via wifi from my android phone by typing 192.168.1.1 in a browser window.

Very strange to me.

Ok, I solved the problem.

The win8.1 computer has a MSI Gaming 5 motherboard. The driver install disk installed a "performance suite" for the NIC driver along with the driver itself. I uninstalled that software. Re-installed most recent driver only from Killer website. Everything works great.

Bottom line: If running a mobo with a killer e2200 NIC, install the driver only. Do not install their extra software.

Glad you got it figured out, and thanks for posting the solution. Seems odd that the software caused that issue, but nothing surprises me anymore.
