My sisters monitor is acting weird. Every time she opens something or even clicks on start the picture stretches. When she closes the programs the screen goes back to about normal. The screen stays stretched though even with everything closed. I figured it had to be the video card because the screen reacts to everything you click on.

But its the monitor because I hooked another monitor up to the PC and it worked fine. I tried unplugging the power with no luck. What could be the problem?
 
That is completely bizarre. Not that I've seen everything, but that is really strange. Swap the vidcard out and see what happens?
 
Well, thats a new one.

Try it in different resolutions. The only thing left after that is to try it on a different system. If it keeps doing it, it's toast. What kind of monitor is it and how old is it? Is it worth servicing?
 
I've have similar occurences - sometimes when I have my Opera browser and BSplayer running concurrently the screen streches out or magnifies across the desktop. When I close the browser it goes back to normal.

No idea what causes it exactly, obviously a little conflict there.
 
I've tried a different video card. It has to be a issue with that monitor. Like I said I tried a different monitor on the system without problems. I also tried other resolutions. Its a couple years old. Its a Samtron I think(nothing special)? Has a nice picture though.
