Weird message

I came home and found a message on my phone. It was some guy speaking in a very monotone voice stating that there is a lost pet alert for my neighbor. It mentioned the what the lost dog looked like and how to contact the owner.

The weird thing is the phone number is for a city over an hour away from me...

I don't even know how they would have even got my phone number. I don't even know anyone in that town and I think I was only there once over 5 or more years ago.

It then gave a website for lost animals.
 
Some lost pet auto dialer? That would really suck if that was a public program where you could put a missing pet call out.

Not free, but findtoto.com does exactly that. You pay based on the number of calls made, and they suggest covering a one mile radius.
 
I got a call from Microsoft yesterday at work asking if I wanted to renew our company's sharepoint license. My company has over 60,000 employees... don't ask how lowly old me who's never dealt with sharepoint administration got my name put as the company's contact.
 
that's no where near as weird as the message i got once saying i was their long lost sister and "mother" was there right now waiting for me to call back.

I get various calls from vendors also, but it's cause the guy at the front desk is stupid and just transfers them to me instead of the right people.
