Weird McAfee Virus Scan problem

Hey, my neighbor is having a weird problem with McAfee Virus Scan. It keeps creating files in Local Settings -> Temp between 5 and 20 gig. Because of this her computer is severely slowed. Anyone have / had this problem that knows how to fix it? I'm trying to avoid the support chat, as it takes an hour to get to the front of the line.

Does McAfee have a searchable FAQ or Knowledge Base on thier website? Almost all companies do.
