Ok, I got 2 computers networked with router and when one computer is running a file from other computer (mp3, video, whatever) the ping to the isp will go really high on the computer uploading (this is on LAN, NOT INTERNET). But the ping to the router is still <1ms . Router has latest firmware, and all nic's are running at full duplex 100mbps speeds.

Ping to the ISP? Is it the next hop past your router? Try pinging www.cisco.com and see if you get the same results.

Also, are both PCs seeing this high latency to the Internet and not to each other or the router?

Nope, it is still low to each other... Ive done full latency tests.. when other computer has file open the pings are still 1ms to router, <1ms to each other. 0% loss ... but the ping will be like 200 - 300ms to isp gateway, I then close the file and ping to isp will be 10ms - 15ms !!!! ..

Oh and also the files that are being open are just mesly 128kbps or 192kbps mp3's. and du meter shows them streaming at only 15 - 20 KB/s (128 - 192) .... But it cant be the acual speed since they still benchmark at 12MB/s or so to each other. I cant figure this out

What kind of router and what protocol are you using for file sharing?

If you just do a large file transfer do you get the same results?

You don't have something wierd setup like data coming in from the net, thru a hub and into a router (or internet sharing PC) and then back thru the hub?

Also be careful running full duplex. If you run that stuff into a hub or a switch that doesn't fully support it, the full duplex traffic will just appear as a broadcast storm to other devices.
