Weird Laptop Problem

Wow, this place I am working at has nothing but laptop problems....

Ok, I am trying to install Windows Xp Pro on a IBM Thinkpad R31.

When the install gets to installing the devices, 37 minutes. The power cuts out, no error, nothing?

I took out a stick of RAM, still get the same problem?

Any ideas?
 
1. You running on A/C or battery?

2. Do you have the latest BIOS?

3. Have you considered a clean or semi-clean install?
