Weird Issues after Power Outtage

Earlier today we had a power outtage for about 20 seconds which caused my computer to shut off. A minute later when i turned on the computer everything booted up and ran fine. When i got home the computer no longer works.

The tv i use as a monitor just keeps shutting off even though the computer is on. The comp freezes in bios or windows as soon as i touch the keyboard or mouse. What could be wrong?

I tried resetting the cmos and it is still screwed up.

Are your components all on a surge protector of any type?

Problem solved. It ended up being 2 separate problems.

The TV was bugged and they just recommended unplugging for a while.

Computer wise i just ended up re installing windows.

Good to hear you got it resolved. Not so good to hear that you had to reinstall windows though.

Right - sounds like you were the victim of a power surge. Ever consider getting a UPS?
